Welcome to CECAD!
The CECAD (Centro de Computación de Alto Desempeño) is a laboratory created by the District University "Francisco José de Caldas" (Universidad Distrital Francisco José de Caldas) to encourage research and knowledge transfer in areas of engineering, technology, natural sciences, social sciences and in general all divisions of the University involved in the development and strengthening of academic, institutional and national community for the growth of local, regional and national industry reflected in the well-being of the society.
The CECAD is a Center for High Performance Computing that will boost research in all areas of science and technology that require a tool with high computing power and information storage.
The following are the objectives set for CECAD:
- Provide computing power, storage and related high-performance computing services to research groups from the University and other affiliated ones working in large-scale projects, and in general, provide support to scientific research and development (R&D)
- Encourage student training in areas of science and technology related to high performance computing, in form of research or applied projects that require a center for high performance computing or access to computing equipment located in other national or international institutions connected to national or international academic networks.
- Train users and researchers in tools, software and platforms for High Performance Computing (HPC), so that they can successfully carry out research and experimentation projects in their respective areas.
- Promote sharing of experiences and technologies between high performance computing centers at local, regional, national and international level.
